General Assembly

Emergency General Assembly

The MSS will hold an Emergency General Assembly on March 6th 2019, from 6:00pm-8:00pm, at the Palmer Auditorium (McIntyre 522).

The purpose of this GA will be to discuss whether MSS members will go on strike on March 8th in support of the CUTE campaign. As a reminder, the MSS has already voted to support the CUTE campaign in referendum in the Fall of 2018.

As per the MSS Constitution, an Emergency General Assembly was called by five members of the General Council. The agenda can be found below. This GA will have power only over this subject; no other motions may be added to the agenda. Other points which may be brought up to a General Assembly will be addressed during the Winter GA, on March 19 (more info to come).

As usual, please don’t hesitate to contact Léanne Roncière, President, or Jesse Chevrier, Executive Vice-President, should you have any questions or concerns.

We are accepting motions from the general student body through the following form:

Motion Submission Link.

If you don’t know how to write a motion, you can follow the instructions to do so here, and Andre Lametti, our Senator, also created a Sample Motion for reference. You can always contact both Jesse Chevrier, Executive Vice-President, at vice-president.mss@mail.mcgill.ca, or Ziyu Xiao, GAAC Officer, at gaac.mss@gmail.com for any questions about the process.

Furthermore, in collaboration with the GAAC, the MSS will be hosting a “How to Write a Motion” drop in session on Wednesday November 29th from 3:30-6pm. Consider this an opportunity to fine-tune any motion you would want to bring forward. Keep an eye out for more information from your class presidents! If you are unable to attend, feel free to contact Ziyu, GAAC Officer at gaac.mss@gmail.com beforehand.

We will be accepting submissions until Nov. 30th @8:00pm. The agenda will be sent out on November 30th along with more exciting announcements (prizes and other fun stuff!).

Please fill out this form if you plan on attending so we can arrange for your dinner.
